Challenge

• Manpower built a number of independent web-based applications for use by its customers, each with its own user database and security mechanisms
• Manpower wanted to dramatically increase the number of users of these various applications
• To make this expanded rollout feasible, it was necessary to streamline and decentralize the administration of users, groups and access control

Solution

• Redpoint performed a detailed, hands-on evaluation of several leading commercial SSO and portal products
• Redpoint also developed an overall security and SSO architecture model that incorporates both authentication and workflow-driven authorization (access control) processes

Results

• Output from the evaluation phase was used to drive subsequent vendor and product selection
• The architecture reference model was used as the basis for ongoing security/SSO development at Manpower
